Jnana yoga does not have to exist within the study of scripture only. We can also learn useful lessons by observing the actions of others. Have you ever noticed that those people who tend to cause new rules to be instituted, never stay in one place very long?

They wear out their welcome fast. They may go through a number of jobs, creating new rules for everyone else, they leave behind. These are the rule breakers of life. In yoga studios, on the job, or out in traffic, they set precedents everywhere they go.

Rule breakers tend to be self-serving and negative about life in general. Everyone owes them something, life is never fair to them, and their surrounding environment is to blame for all the wrongs life has done to them. Their family, job, society, and friends are at fault for their lot in life.

Believe it or not, you can learn a lot by watching a rule breaker in practice. My grandfather used to say, Even the court jester can teach you something. It is very true in this case, as well.

For a start, we can learn how not to act, but there is much more. How are this persons listening skills? Chances are - this person does not listen to others. In fact, part of making lasting friendships, partnerships, and relationships, is to listen to others empathically.

Does this person take responsibility for his or her actions? Usually, this person feels they are smarter than everyone else, but a victim of circumstance when schemes do not have the desired result.

The irony is - a rule breaker will never be navigated by reality, unless he or she makes a big change in attitude. Therefore, always be guided by common sense and ethics.

Xbox 360 Represents a Giant Step in Video Game Technology

One aspect of television technology that's frequently overlooked is gaming. Some may look down on video games as being activities for adolescents, but a lot of former adolescents who were completely into video games have grown up and brought those games with them.

A quick look at some video game systems shows that the games have grown up too. Microsoft's xbox is a perfect example of this phenomenon. If the last video game system you played was an Atari or and Intellivision, you won't even recognize the new xbox 360. This system is meant to deliver the best possible video game experience given today's technology and it uses that technology in full. It's central processing unit is made up of three separate processors each with a clock speed of 3.2 Gigahertz. It also has an ATI graphics processor that runs at 500 Megahertz that can process four times as many pixels a second than the original Xbox. (There isn't even a comparison between this and the Intellivision!) The xbox 360 has 512 Megabytes of RAM which is shared among all of the processors.

The xbox 360 is also designed to work with High Definition. As part of the standard for the Xbox 360 all video games have to support either 720p or 1080i resolutions and the wide screen 16:9 aspect ratio. Supposedly a High Definition Television set isn't completely necessary to play the xbox 360. If that's true, one has to wonder what happens to the extra screen width when the Xbox is used with a 4:3 aspect ratio television. It's easy to imagine losing the right and left edges of the screen getting in the way of playing some games. Like with First person shooters, you might find yourself shot by someone just out of your view but who you would have seen with a 16:9 screen.

The Xbox 360 also come with a 20 gigabyte hard drive. The hard drive is removable and can hold music to be played as a soundtrack to be played along with games. (In the old days we were forced to turn on the CD player if we wanted a sound track.) Presumably the hard drive could also hold digital photos and other data. In fact, though the literature is quick to emphasize that the xbox 360 is primarily meant to be used as a gaming platform, it can be used for a lot of other types of media too. For example it will function as an MP3, CD, and dvd player and display digital photographs off of DVD's and CD's. The fact that the unit includes three usb ports means that a huge number of devices including digital cameras, MP3 players, and computers with microsoft Windows XP can be used with the xbox 360. Other extras include wireless controllers with rechargeable batteries that can charge on the unit itself, and the ability to establish a wireless connection with your computer.

With all of this connectivity it seems that they only thing, the Xbox 360 won't do is replace the work station abilities of a normal computer.

What Are Hurricanes, Tropical Cyclones, And Typhoons?

Depending which part of the world you come, from you may here about natures ravaging winds being called tropical cyclones or typhoons, but where I come from in the usa, we know them as hurricanes. hurricanes can be highly destructive to say the least. Most of the world probably witnessed this more recently with hurricane Katrina, which was recorded as the costliest and one of the deadliest hurricanes in the history of the united States of america.

The hurricane season is well known to the state and residents of florida and as a consequence they are well equipped and well prepared for any eventuality. This did not seem to be so with Katrina in August of 2005. An estimated 80% of New orleans was devastated by the immense flooding which was created by the storm surge caused by this giant of hurricanes.

It's not the purpose of this short piece to look for someone or something to blame, as lessons have probably already been learnt from the powers that be, but I just hope that the united States governments and responsible departments do everything in their power to ensure such a catastrophe, as was caused by Katrina, never happens again.

So just what are hurricanes and why do they occur in certain parts of the world and not others? Well, without going into to much meteorological detail, a hurricane is basically a tropical storm so therefore can only be found in the tropics, namely the Southern atlantic ocean, caribbean Sea, gulf of mexico, and in the eastern Pacific ocean. But a hurricane is not just any tropical storm. In order to reach hurricane status it has to have sustainable winds exceeding 74 miles per hour. Katrina, by the way, sustained winds of up to 140 mph.

hurricanes occur over oceans where the water is 27C (80F) or above, and the air has to also be extremely humid and thick. Therefore, the perfect conditions for a hurricane to form are basically warm water and humid air. As this warm air rises around the storms center, it cools. Moisture then condenses, clouds are formed, and the rains begin. The condensation releases latent heat and this heat then powers the hurricane.

A characteristic of a hurricane is the eye and the eye of the storm can be anything from 4 to 25 miles in diameter. There is an eerie silence within this eye and often clear blue skies and light winds can be usual. Those caught up in a hurricane know only too well when the eye is above them, and although it can buy a bit of valuable time to move, help, or rescue victims, many often describe this moment as a deafening silence.
